Chuck’s path to founding Blu Skies Infrared in 2019 was anything but ordinary. After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Machinery Technician, Chuck built a career spanning commercial roofing, fire science, and forensic investigation. Along the way he accumulated a combination of hands-on experience and formal credentials that is genuinely rare in the infrared inspection industry.
As Service Manager for one of the largest commercial roofing companies in the industry, Chuck developed an intimate understanding of roofing systems, building envelopes, and the costly damage that goes undetected until it’s too late. That experience laid the foundation for what Blu Skies Infrared does today: finding hidden problems before they become expensive disasters.
On the fire science side, Chuck served as Assistant Fire Chief and became a NAFI Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator. This credential gives him a forensic perspective on electrical thermography that no standard inspector can match. When Chuck scans an electrical system, he’s not just looking for hot spots. He’s applying the same investigative mindset that has helped solve fire and explosion cases across his career.
